Josh grew up in Aitkin, Minnesota. He graduated magna cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in financial economics and a minor in political science. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2007, graduating cum laude.

While in law school, Josh was a member of the Maynard Pirsig Moot Court and worked as a research assistant for Professor Bradley G. Clary.  As a research assistant, Josh helped to draft legal research problems and assisted in revising two textbooks.

Josh worked as a summer associate for the firm in 2006, prior to his graduation from law school. After this experience, Josh and his wife Shauna decided to make Fergus Falls their home. Shauna is an English teacher, and they enjoy spending time with their son, Aidan.

Outside of the office, Josh enjoys golfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, hunting and fishing, and traveling. He is also interested in music and theatre, and was involved in both while at Gustavus and during law school. He is looking forward to meeting new people and becoming an active member of his new community.
