Assessing the needs of the area's ag community is not unusual for Oscar. A native of farming community Buxton, North Dakota, Oscar has worked extensively in the area of family farm transfers. Oscar's law practice includes in-depth estate planning, real estate, probate law, corporate law, employment and labor law, public law, and township, county and municipal law.
Oscar graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1961. After teaching for a short period and serving in the military, Oscar attended law school. In 1968, Oscar graduated from the University of North Dakota Law School and joined the law firm. Oscar is licensed to practice law in the states of North Dakota and Minnesota and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Oscar was appointed by the Supreme Court to the Board of Law Examiners.
Oscar and his wife, Laurel, reside in Fergus Falls. They have two sons, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. He enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, running, cycling, and farming as a hobby.
Oscar is very active in community activities, including the Fergus Area College Foundation, Grace United Methodist Church and Foundation, Otter Tail County Housing Board, Board of Jail Ministry, Advisory Board of Salvation Army, and Board of Central Business District of Fergus Falls.
