Katrina is Managing Partner and an Attorney at Pemberton Law and a seasoned legal professional with over 20 years of experience in the legal field. As Managing Partner, she takes the lead in setting strategic goals and objectives, supervising daily activities, monitoring performance, and driving business growth. She holds a prominent leadership position within the team to implement and manage strategies that promote Pemberton’s mission and vision. Katrina continues practicing in areas of Family Law and Mediation as well as her Managing Partner role.  

Katrina grew up near Underwood, Minnesota and joined Pemberton in 2003 after attending law school at the University of Missouri.  She has been a partner at Pemberton Law since 2007, and has established herself as a prominent attorney in Minnesota, having been named to the Super Lawyers “Rising Star” list 7 times since 2007.  Wass is a well-respected attorney both in the legal community and among her peers at Pemberton.

Community leadership and volunteer work have always played an important role in Katrina's life. She is currently the adult leader of the local Sverdrup 4-H club and the Chair of Pemberton’s Community Service Committee.

While her heart is in Minnesota, Katrina's first passion is traveling. She has experienced many parts of the world—from Venezuela to Kenya and beyond. Katrina especially loves to travel through the eyes of her children.  She and her husband Lee Larsen live east of Underwood with their two daughters.

Matt began working for Pemberton Law as the Administrator in 2006.  As the Administrator, he is in charge of day-to-day business at the four locations. In addition to the financial side of the business, Matt reviews the benefit programs, is a trustee of the firm’s 401k plan, and manages the facilities. Matt also serves on the firm’s executive committee and oversees accounting and technology. Professionally, Matt is a proud member of the MN Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALAMN) along with the National group of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA).

After growing up in Northfield Minnesota, Matt attended St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Finance. After college, Matt worked in leadership positions at Enterprise Rent-a-Car, and Reliakor Services in the Twin Cities before moving to Fergus Falls in 2006.

Volunteering and community involvement are important to Matt. Matt is a former member board member on the Minn-Kota chapter of the American Red Cross, a chapter that covers five counties in Minnesota and all of North Dakota. He is also a former board member and past President at the Pebble Lake Golf Club and a past President of the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce.  Matt was recently inducted into the St. John’s Hall of Honor for his accomplishments in golf during his time at the college.

Matt and his wife Kelli live in Fergus Falls with their two boys, Riley and Simon. In his free time, Matt enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family on Leech Lake.

Monica joined Pemberton Law  in May of 2008. She works part-time as the firm’s Director of Marketing. Her days consist of creating and executing overall marketing strategies to create awareness of the firm’s brand and services. Monica serves on the Tri County Health Care Foundation Board, is the Treasurer of the Wadena Hockey Association and is a Site Director for the local Bio Girls in the Wadena area. Monica and her husband, Jason, reside in Wadena with their two children, Taylor and Weston.

Denise began working for Pemberton Law in 2020, specializing in Attorney Billing and General Accounting.  In 2022, Denise became the Finance Director for Pemberton Law.

A native of Alexandria, Denise graduated from Fergus Falls High School, the Fergus Falls Community College and Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Accounting & Finance.

Denise enjoys spending time with her four daughters and her grandchildren, all of which are local to Fergus Falls.  Now as an empty nester, traveling with her husband Kevin is her perfect way to spend time off, along with great friends.  An avid dog-loving family, Denise has three English Springer Spaniels.

Josh is the Human Resources Director at Pemberton Law, where he leads the firm’s human resources strategy and operations. As a member of the administrative team, he focuses on recruitment and retention, employee development, and strategic workforce planning.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, Marketing, and Education from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. While at the university, Josh was a member of the football team and participated in a specialized leadership initiative for team captains, emphasizing high-performance leadership, accountability, and resilience. He was also active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership program, reinforcing his commitment to values-based leadership.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring the outdoors.

Jess joined Pemberton in 2024 as a Finance Specialist. She is a graduate of M-State, with degrees in Accounting and Payroll Specialty. Jess spends her days working with our attorneys and legal staff creating and editing monthly statements performing reconciliations, as well as general accounting and client services at our four locations.  An outdoor enthusiast, Jess enjoys spending time with her husband Michael, 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Fishing, boating, and camping are enjoyed by all, including our dog Micky, who never misses a camping trip, or boat ride with his family.
